Sittingbourne

This competition for a new library and community centre looked at the integration of streetscape with architecture and artwork. The project developed a new public space and streetscape connections to link together the disparate parts of the existing town.
The public space was designed as an event space for public performances and displays. An artwork was integrated into the paving of the public space.

A double curve ceiling was developed for the library to spread daylight across the reading room. Above the reading room a roof terrace was provided with a cafe and a reading lawn.
