The Hippocratic Garden

The project developed as an art work by an artist supported by Studio Callaghan as an architecture/landscape practice. A garden for a new hospital was based on themes from Hippocrates as the founder of contemporary health provision. The strategy was for meanings to be layered and overlaid. Reflective surfaces were proposed made of films of water flowing over beds of rock. Specific texts by Hippocrates were integrated with hard and soft landscaping and architecture elements.
